7 Best Youtube Channels for HSK1 Students Learning Mandarin Chinese

Hello, fellow beginners of Mandarin! 大家好!

I have been in HSK1 for 2 months now, self-studying from home. Actually, I've been learning Mandarin from various sources but saw myself going nowhere. So decided to set my schedule and use the HSK as the study system.

During these 2 months, I see much more progress in my learning than what I learned a while ago with no direction. I think it is much better when we follow a good system and go in the right direction. If you're in class you'll be in good hands, but if you are planning or are learning by yourself you do need to follow the coursebook along with the audio and workbook for effective learning.

Besides that I found some really good Mandarin Youtube Channels to practice along with the book. Here are my 7 Best Recommended Youtube Channels for HSK1 students:

1. Little Fox Chinese - Stories & Songs for Learners

Little Fox is an awesome animated Mandarin channel with clear pronunciation and is fun to watch. You can check in the playlist for very beginner levels where they start from the Pinyin in good detail and some good basic that fits nicely with HSK1.

2. Say Ninhao - Chinese Learning

Say Ninhao is the one I use together with the textbook, they are a really good source for HSK self-learners. In the playlist, you can find their tutoring explaining all the lessons from the book. I learned a lot more as they add some more value the textbook didn't include. There is a whole playlist from HSK1 to HSK6. I really recommend this Channel for self-learners and you can join their one-on-one class as well.

3. Mandarin Click

Mandarin Click focuses on learning through short stories, there are also Pinyin and English subtitles. This is a good way to enjoy learning as we enjoy the stories. In the playlist, they have a collection of stories from HSK1-HSK6. There is no pressure just enjoy the stories and you will at least learn something along the way.

4. Learn Chinese

Learn Chinese have the whole course from HSK1-HSK6, If you don't have the HSK course book you can also follow their system. I think the lessons are a bit different but the purpose is to get you to pass through the HSK exam test so the words and level should be familiar with the official textbook we follow.

5. Mr. Sun Mandarin

Mr. Sun Mandarin mainly focuses on Mandarin vocabulary well prepare in categories. I like that because I think I remember new vocabulary well when studying the same categories of words. Many Mandarin Channels are female-voice and Mr. Sun is a nicely male voice. There are also short lessons and stories for beginners which is also good for HSK1 students.

6. Everyday Chinese

Everyday Chinese regularly produces good Mandarin study videos on the channel focusing on vocabulary and expressions for everyday life. Though they produce mostly basic Chinese I recommend going to the playlist and focusing on the HSK1 playlist. They have some good vocabulary, grammar points, and phrases there.

7. Learn Chinese with ChineseClass101.com

ChineseClass101 focuses on a wide range from Beginner to advance so again I recommend going to the playlist where they have some cool vocabulary and they talk in a fun mood to entertain the viewers with some added value to Mandarin.

I am not affiliated with any of the above Mandarin channels, I just find them helpful and you can share your favorite HSK1 Channels in the comment I probably missed out on some great ones. they are all free to watch though some of them offer online classes it's up to you if you want to enroll but for the purpose of this post, the free Youtube videos are good enough for HSK1 students.
