Overview of Hong Kong TVB Dramas inside Cambodia

TVB has been producing many popular dramas that entertain Cambodian families since the early 2000s when there was little access to Television in the country. TVB dramas are among the most watched dramas in Cambodia and they are coming back stronger in recent years so it's worth talking about TVB in Cambodia.

Do Cambodian people like watching TVB dramas from Hong Kong?

TVB dramas are very popular in Cambodia. The dramas from TVB Hong Kong are dubbed in Khmer language since the early 2000s and since then Cambodian people became fans of these Hong Kong Cantonese dramas. 

In 2019 the TVB Cambodia Drama youtube channel was launched and by 2022 the channel reach 1.1 Million subscribers! Compared to TVB Thailand and TVB Vietnam which both have 1.4 Million subscribers. This proves that TVB is more popular among Cambodian people if we look at the overall population that Cambodia has about 6 times less than Thailand and about 8 times less population compared to Vietnam.  

Where can you watch TVB dramas dubbed in Khmer language?

TVB dramas were often on Cambodian TV networks but we see less of that now. There are some websites hosting the dramas but we see the trends that they're closing due to copyright claims. 

The best place to watch TVB dramas in Cambodia is on their youtube channel TVB Cambodia Dramas which hosts a lot of dramas and is updating new dramas frequently.

What is the most popular TVB drama in Cambodia?

The most popular TVB drama in Cambodia is Big White Duel. This drama attracted many subscribers to the TVB Cambodia channel and it's the most popular according to the TVB Cambodia Page and also to my observation as I am also a fan of that drama waiting for the Big White Duel 2 to be released in Khmer.

So Big White Duel is the most popular drama in recent times, but I also want to mention some of the older TVB dramas that are popular in Cambodia at that including:

• The Conqueror's Story (2004) aired on Cambodian TV 
• Witness to a Prosecution aired on Cambodian TV during dinner time. Bobby Au-Yueng became a favorite in Cambodia for this drama (also my favorite) 
• The Legendary Four Aces also on TV at dinner time
• 10 Brothers: this one is quite popular in Cambodia
• Square Pegs: This drama get people to know Roger Kwok (My favorite actor) and became his fan

So far I can rarely find any TVB Dramas dubbed in English but you can watch TVB dramas with English subtitles or captions at TVB Pearl 

Who is the most popular TVB actor in Cambodia?

That can't be the only one that is most popular. Newer fans like more of Kenneth Ma, Vincent Wong, Bosco Wong, Ruco Chan, and some recent actors. while the old school still goes for Roger Kwok, Bobby Au-Yueng, Francis Ng, Wayne Lai, and the like. I would like to mention Raymond Cho though he rarely plays the main role, I like his acting.

Who is the most popular TVB actress in Cambodia?

I like many TVB fans in Cambodia voted for Ali Lee because there are more TV series featuring her in recent years. I would like to add Natalie Tong (My favorite Actress), Kate Tsui, and Linda Chung. 

There are many younger TVB actresses who are becoming idolized including Grace Chan, Tracy Chu, Jeannie Chan, and Sisley Choi.

Above is my observation and because I also watch a lot of TVB dramas I know I might put in many personal preferences though I try not to. But I do research a lot to bring as accurate info as I could.
