Hello, fellow beginners of Mandarin! 大家好!

It's my third month of self-studying Mandarin and I come to lesson 7 on HSK1. I feel more confident and believe in the progress I've made so far. If you have read my learn Mandarin Series in this blog you know I take HSK Textbook as a reference and I update regularly about my progress to give you the information you need to learn Mandarin whether on your own or in class.

last month, I wrote a post about the 7 Recommended Youtube Channels for HSK1 Students, and those channels really help me along the way. Today I want to share my recommended mobile apps for HSK1 students and these are the apps I'm using along with the course.

CHINESIMPLE HSK1

This app contains many games to learn Mandarin words and phrases for HSK1. There are a lot of sections that I'm still experimenting so this app can take you a very long time to cover all the features and it's perfect as you progress through the course.

I'm sure after covering all the sections it would improve a lot of our vocabulary and phrases for HSK1. CHINESIMPLE HSK1 is free to download on Playstore and AppStore but there fee inside the app if you want to unlock all the features. I'm using it free and I think it's already good enough.

If you finish all the sections and want to upgrade for more content the HSK1 PRO plan for this app is $4.49/month.

I'm not an affiliate and all the apps I recommend are from my own experiences.

HSK Flashcards

HSK Flashcards is an app designed for HSK students to learn and remind Mandarin vocabulary. This app is very easy to use with a simple interface and its main purpose is vocabulary learning. The app is free with all the vocabulary from HSK1 to HSK6.

This is a Flashcards app where you can choose how many new words you want to learn each day. When you learn a new word you can choose whether it is Hard, Easy, or Very Easy. The hard words will pop up again frequently until you get used to them and add them to Easy or Very Easy which will show up days later.

I have been using this app for nearly 3 months now and have learned 117 Mandarin words spending only about 5 minutes per day. I remember those words better each day as they come up again once in a while.

You can find the app on AppStore and PlayStore this app will help you remember new vocabulary better. An honorable mention is Anki, but as I don't experience myself using Anki I don't have much to say you can try that as Anki got a lot of good reviews from HSK learners too.

Pleco

Pleco is a very good Mandarin dictionary app for HSK students, it's easy to use, free, and has no ads inside so you can focus on your study. You can search for the meaning of any Chinese character by writing on the screen and the app will show similar words according to your writing. In my experience, Pleco recognizes really well of the writing and it shows the meaning with explanation and voice reading of the word.

I am happy with the app as it helps me find the words easily and I can learn a lot more.

Conclusion

These are the apps I use myself and recommend to fellow HSK1 students. Some of these apps will still be useful as you level up your HSK course. I will update this article for new apps if I find it helpful. And I think I probably miss some good ones so you can share your favorite apps for HSK1 Mandarin in the comment down below it will help our fellow learners.
