Review on Buying from AliExpress in Cambodia

Cambodia is very new to buying and selling online, until today most purchasing online still happens locally only. Most online sales in Cambodia come to Facebook Pages and Khmer24.com. For international e-commerce stores, it comes to AliExpress, TaoBao which is from China, and Lazada as I know from Thailand.

What about Amazon.com and eBay? Cambodians do know about these 2 giants but they are not the things for Cambodians at least for now (We talk about that at the bottom of the post). Here are the answers to common questions about AliExpress in Cambodia.

Can you buy products on AliExpress in Cambodia?

AliExpress is one of the most convenient online stores where you can buy products and send them to Cambodia. 

Many Cambodians choose to buy things on AliExpress rather than on Amazon or eBay because many of the products send from AliEpress to Cambodia are free of delivery while it costs a lot on Amazon and eBay and most of the time the delivery cost is much more expensive than the product itself.

Where do you get products from AliExpress in Cambodia?

You can get your goods from AliExpress at the Post Office and a few delivery companies which likely would be ZTO Express. The products will arrive at the Post Office in the City or Province you choose.

My Experience buying from AliExpress in Cambodia

I occasionally buy from AliExpress once in while and the goods normally arrive within 2 weeks. My experience with this platform is a good one (my account is 8 years old). Things on AliExpress often is much cheaper than in local stores in Cambodia and I often compare the price to see if it is worth waiting two weeks or just grabbing it at a local store. 

Why AliExpress and not Amazon.com in Cambodia?

AliExpress is more convenient than Amazon considering you're staying in Cambodia. Correct me if I'm wrong. You can buy Amazon products in Cambodia but they should be something like Ebook because the physical goods will cost so much to deliver to Cambodia.

When browsing on Amazon in Cambodia you will have to filter for the lowest delivery cost products and that will limit your choice. There are many products in which the price of delivery costs more than the product itself. On contrary, you would find a lot of free delivery to Cambodia products on AliExpress. That's the major reason Cambodians prefer AliExpress. 

Amazon is a more popular online store but many people in Cambodia only know the name and they are unlikely to buy anything there from the first glance they see at the price of delivery.
